Landscapes
Knowing just a few tricks can help you get good landscape photos. The foundation of a landscape is keeping the camera level. In hand-held shots, it is hard to tell whether the camera is level, but the framing grid is here to help you out.
Picture Controls help you get the results you want. They let you control a wealth of settings, including sharpness, hue, and contrast. For example, when shooting landscapes, choose the "Landscape" Picture Control for rich colors. Subjects such as flowers or blue skies can be rendered more vividly using the "Vivid" Picture Control.
