The internal zoom mechanism maintains a consistent length with minimal shifts in the center of gravity while zooming, ensuring balance on gimbals and superior reliability in challenging conditions.
Fast and accurate AF is realized by adopting a multi-focusing system with Nikon's proprietary Silky Swift Voice Coil Motors (SSVCM) employed as high-speed AF actuators that also significantly reduce noise and vibration.
Besides built-in Vibration Reduction with an effect of 5.5 stops, when using a camera that is compatible with Synchro VR activation, the effect extends to 6.0 stops*.

By effectively positioning aspherical lenses and newly adopted glass materials that correct chromatic aberration, the highest level of image quality in the S-Line series is achieved.
The use of Nikon's proprietary Meso Amorphous Coat and ARNEO Coat effectively suppresses ghosting and flares, achieving edge-to-edge clarity across the entire frame, even in backlit scenes.
