Fieldscope bodies are available in two types: straight and angled. The difference is in the eyepiece mount position.

Features of straight type

A Fieldscope that has an eyepiece mounted parallel or in a straight line with the Fieldscope body.

Advantages of straight type

Since the eyepiece and the subject line up, positioning the Fieldscope straight toward the subject let you easily capture the image in the field of view. When you view flying birds, capturing them is easy as you aim the Fieldscope in the same direction as your eyes.

Setting the Fieldscope at your eye position by adjusting the tripod, observation with natural posture is achieved.

The direct line of vision realizes easy observation through a window or door of a car or between bushes.

During digiscoping, the straight line view enables you to capture a subject through the camera's finder or LCD monitors easily.

Features of angled type

A Fieldscope that has an eyepiece mounted at an angle to the Fieldscope body.

Advantages of angled type

When you observe birds in the sky or stars, it is comfortable to use an angled Fieldscope as you can maintain a natural body position.

There is no need to set the tripod high. Observation from a lower and secure position is achieved.

Angled type Fieldscopes are also suitable for observation or drawing while seated or from a low angle.

When you share a Fieldscope with several people of different height, you don't have to adjust every time according to each user's height.
