Picture Controls

Nikon's unique Picture Control system lets you modify and share image processing settings, including sharpening, contrast, brightness, saturation, and hue, among compatible devices and software.

Picture control: Standard
Picture control: Portrait
Picture control: Vivid
Picture control: Monochrome

Standard:
Standard processing for balanced results. Recommended in most situations.

Neutral:
Minimal processing for natural results. Recommended for photos that will later be extensively processed or retouched.

Vivid:
Pictures are enhanced for a vivid, photoprint effect. Recommended for photos that emphasize primary colors.

Monochrome:
Take monochrome photographs.

Portrait:
Pictures are processed for skin with natural texture and a rounded feel.

Landscape:
Produces vibrant landscapes and cityscapes.

Procedure

The "F" (Feature) Menu

Pressing "F" in mode P, S, A, or M displays the items listed below.

1: Shooting mode
2: Shutter speed
3: Aperture
4: ISO sensitivity
5: AF-area mode, Focus mode, Metering, Picture Control, White balance
Pressing "F" in creative mode displays the items listed below. The items available vary with the option selected for creative mode.

Pressing "F" in advanced movie mode displays the items listed below. The items available vary with the type of movie selected.

2: Advanced movie, Exposure mode

6: Picture Control, White balance, Frame size/frame rate, Slow motion, Interval, AE lock

To display the shooting menu, press MENU and select "Shooting."
