And a high-sensitivity Backside illumination CMOS image sensor receives more light than conventional sensors to record higher quality images, especially when taking pictures in Night landscape mode using the consecutive shot combining technology.

Designed for optimal control and operability

The large 8 cm/3.2-in., approx. 921k-dot vari-angle LCD monitor gives you great flexibility to monitor and compose shots comfortably from various shooting positions. Assign frequently used functions to the Function button for quick one-touch access. Feel how the ergonomic handgrip maximizes comfort and minimizes camera shake, complementing other features that ensure handling stability, such as the Side zoom control.

GPS recording informs you of where you took your great shots

With an onboard database of about 1.86 million POI* (Points of Interest), built-in GPS gives you extensive capability to quickly record, store and confirm the names of shooting locations where you take pictures. The recorded GPS information can be displayed on the "NIKON IMAGE SPACE" map view or ViewNX 2.
