Adaptable for a wide variety of situations
This lens will add a more beautiful blur in the background while capturing the subject with clear dynamism. It is optimal for shooting portraits as well as a variety of other situations such as close up or capturing images in a dimly lit environment.
A fast lens with the maximum aperture of f/1.8
With the maximum aperture of f/1.8, this fast lens allows you to create a beautiful blur in the background. You can also shoot pictures without increasing the ISO sensitivity in a dim environment with least image noise. When used in combination with Nikon 1's fast shutter speed at 1/4000 to 1/16000 of a second, 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 can deliver beautiful photos without blurring the subject in lowly lit situations or overexposing in daylight.
Superior resolving power to capture the entire picture sharply
Even if you had a high-pixel camera, you cannot take a beautiful photo or movie without the resolving power of the lens. 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8's aspheric lens, together with the accumulated optical technologies of the NIKKOR lenses, makes it possible to capture even the peripheral parts of the picture in high resolution.
Shooting small subjects in close up
The lens allows you to capture the subject in an extreme proximity with the focus distance of 0.2 m (approx. 0.7 ft), enabling you to shoot flowers or sweets in a beautiful close up.
Sophisticated design that is compact and lightweight
This lens is even lighter than the slim single focal lens 1 NIKKOR 10mm f/2.8 by approx. 7 g (approx. 0.25 oz), allowing you to carry it with ease for a wide variety of occasions. Designed with a stylish metallic appearance, the lens comes available in 3 colors of silver, black, and white.
Lightweight drive mechanism for high-speed AF
The compact design realizes an extremely light AF drive mechanism making way for an amazingly fast autofocus. The high-speed AF can also optimally accommodate the high-speed continuous shooting.
Lens hood for protection
HB-N104 Bayonet Hood (sold separately) prevents flare and ghost in the picture when shooting outdoors. You can also put the cap on the lens while using the hood, allowing you to protect the lens surface from dirt and scratches at all times. Because of its compact size, it allows you to shoot in close up without getting in your way.
