The D3 is the first digital SLR camera to support HDMI output*. Images can be displayed on any High-Definition monitor simply by connecting the camera to a TV with an ordinary Type-A connector. High-Definition TV broadcast images are displayed at 1,920 x 1,080 dot resolution, but images from the D3’s Nikon FX-format image sensor are output at 4,256 x 2,832 dot resolution, for extraordinarily beautiful high-definition images. High-Definition TVs can also be used as external monitors for Live View shooting in a studio.
