Special mention item
A special-purpose camera that takes a meteorological picture of clouds, etc. in the sky with the field of view of 180 degrees from the horizon.
Can take a picture of the entire sky of 50 mm dia. circular image in a 6 x 6 cm format 120 roll film.
The camera body is based on 'X-ray Indirect Photography Equipment' (1948).
Fish-eye-NIKKOR 16.3 mm f/8 lens is a modified version of 16 mm f/8 Fisheye lens (picture angle 180 degrees) produced in 1938 for meteorological photography (cloud cover measurement).
This product was sold to Meteorological Agency and Defense Academy as a special-order product 'Sky-image Recording Camera' since March of 1957, prior to the release in the domestic market in September of 1960. Afterwards, the model was modified to the mass-production version.
Three types of filters were UV, R0 and R1 for the special-order product, but they were changed to O56, R60 and Y52 at the time of the release of the mass-production model in the domestic market.
Also, the lens shutter was 'SEIKOSHA MX' for the special-order product but was changed to 'SEIKOSHA SLV' for the mass-production model at the time of release in the domestic market.

There was a special version of 'Sky-image Recording Equipment' that consists of Fisheye Camera, Automatic Photographing Equipment and Timer Unit.
'Automatic Photographing Equipment': equipment to perform opening and closing of a folding type hood which covers the Fisheye Camera, film winding, and shutter charge and release automatically. Consists of 100V AC compact motor, a gear, a push button and a ring for shielding the ecliptic. 'Timer Unit': equipment for turning on/off the electric circuit of 'Automatic Equipment' at intervals (can be freely set between 5 and 180 minutes). Consists of a relay and a switch that are operated by a 100V AC compact motor, and a display lamp.
These were some of the bases for the later Motor Drive for 'Nikon S2'.
