- When new wallpaper is installed, the previously used wallpaper is erased. Be sure to make a backup copy of the previously used wallpaper before making any changes.
- When an SD memory card is formatted, all data on the card are deleted. Be sure to save all important data on your computer or another memory device before formatting.

1 Preparation


 |
The following items are necessary for downloading wallpaper images for your digital camera.
- Camera body
- One of the following power sources:
AC adapter EH-5, or EH-5a with AC power connector EP-5
Fully charged rechargeable Li-ion battery EN-EL9
- Nikon approved SD memory card
- Card reader*
*A commercially available SD memory card reader is required.

2 Downloading wallpaper and confirming files


 |
The following instructions explain how to download wallpaper images using the “Nature” category as an example.
2-1 Create a new folder on the hard drive.

Right click on the Windows desktop, then select “New” and “Folder” to create a new folder. |

Give the folder an appropriate name. |
2-2 Download wallpaper images to the folder created above.

Right click the “Download for Windows” button on the “Nature” category page and select “Save Target As”. Save the file to the folder created in Step 2-1 above to download. |
2-3 Decompress the downloaded exe file.

Double click the downloaded file (nature.exe) to decompress. |

When the file is decompressed, the image folder (101NCWAL) will be created. |

3 Copying wallpaper images

| Use a card reader to make copies of images on the SD memory card. |
| |
| Be sure to use the AC adapter EH-5 or EH-5a and AC power connector EP-5, or the fully charged Li-ion rechargeable battery EN-EL9. |
|

3-1 Turn the camera off, insert the SD memory card into the camera’s memory card slot, and turn the camera on.
3-2 Format the SD memory card.

Press the button on the camera, and choose “Format memory card” in the Setup menu using the multi selector. |
 |
| • |
When the “Format memory card” screen appears, select “Yes” to format the memory card, and press “OK” to start formatting. |
| Warning |
- When an SD memory card is formatted, all data on the card are deleted. Be sure to save all important data on your computer or another memory device before formatting.

3-3 Turn the camera off and remove the memory card from the camera.
3-4 Insert the memory card into the card reader connected to the computer*

If “Nikon Transfer” has been installed, it will start automatically depending on your computer system. Select “Exit” from the “File” menu to exit. |

Under Windows Vista, an “AutoPlay" dialog box may be displayed depending on the settings. Click " X ". |

Under Windows XP, a “Removable Disk" dialog box may be displayed depending on the settings. Click “Cancel”. |
3-5 Copying wallpaper images

“Removable Disk (E:)”** will be displayed in the “My Computer” window. |

Double click the “Removable Disk (E:)”** icon to display the “DCIM” folder.
**The drive name “Removable Disk (E:)” may differ depending on your computer system. |

Drag the decompressed folder named “101NCWAL” to the “DCIM” folder to copy.

When copying is completed, open the “DCIM” folder to check contents. |
3-6 Right click the “Removable Disk” icon and select “Eject” from the menu that appears. Then remove the memory card from the card reader.
| Warning |
- Be sure to make copies of wallpaper images to “DCIM” folder on the SD memory card. If they are copied in another location, the camera cannot recognize these wallpaper images.
- The number of available frames on the SD memory card will decrease after the wallpaper images have been saved on the card.

4 Installing the wallpaper.

Notes for Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 users
If you do not have file expansion software such as Allume Systems’ Stuffit Expander installed in your computer, the downloaded file will not be automatically expanded.
If the file is not automatically expanded, first install expansion software such as Stuffit Expander and try again.

Once the file [nature.sit.hqx] has been downloaded, the file [nature.sit] will be created and automatically expanded. |
• When expansion is executed, the folder [101NCWAL] will be created.
