The D300's improved data processing capability realizes greater processing and operating speed. This gives it the ability to shoot at 6 fps in continuous bursts*1 of up to 100 shots*2 when using the Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL3e that comes with the D300, and as fast as 8 fps*3 when using the optional Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10. The D300 is also compatible with next-generation high-speed UDMA cards, which enables even faster recording.
The new Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10 enables high-speed shooting at a rate of 8 fps*3, delivering power to the D300 from either a single Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL3e, a single Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL4/EN-EL4a (sold separately), or eight AA-size batteries, (alkaline, Ni-MH, lithium or nickel-manganese). The Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10 includes holders for both EN-EL3e and AA-size batteries in the box.
*1 When shooting in Continuous-servo AF (C) using Shutter-Priority Auto [S] or Manual [M] exposure modes and a shutter speed of 1/ 250 s or faster with other settings at default. Continuous shooting speed for 14-bit NEF (RAW) is approx. 2.5 fps
*2 NORMAL - LARGE image setting, using a SanDisk Extreme IV CompactFlash card
*3 8 fps requires either 1) Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10, Battery Chamber Cover BL-3 and either Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL4 or EN-EL4a, 2) Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10, Battery Chamber Cover BL-3 and 8 R6/AA-size batteries; note that shooting speed drops as the batteries lose their charge, or 3) AC Adapter EH-5a/EH-5. (Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10, Battery Chamber Cover BL-3, AC Adapter EH-5a/EH-5 and batteries are all sold separately.)
