Capture NX 2: The next-generation photo editing solution that delivers outstanding results more quickly and easily
Capture NX 2 delivers intuitive control over a powerful set of advanced tools that make photo editing more efficient and more satisfying. In addition to Color Control Points, which let you adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, color and warmth, the all-new Selection Control Point tool makes it easy to apply nearly any image adjustment to a specific area with a click of the mouse. Simply move the on-screen sliders for each Control Point to the left or right to make the desired adjustment and achieve the results you want while visually confirming them in real time. Other new tools that make working with Capture NX 2 easier and more efficient include the Auto Retouch Brush, which can be used to remove dust spots or other blemishes from a picture with just a few mouse strokes, as well as the Shadow/Highlight Adjustments tool. Capture NX 2 not only supports Nikon's own NEF (RAW) files, but also JPEG and TIFF images, and uses full 16-bit internal processing to deliver optimized results with the finest detail.

There are also Color Control Point sliders for hue, the red, green and blue color channels, and warmth. Each can be selected and displayed when using BCS (default), HSB, or RGB, and the appropriate adjustments can be applied within all modes.

Picture Control System support
Capture NX lets you apply custom Picture Controls created on the D300 or any other model that supports the system to NEF (RAW) images for finishing, even if those NEF (RAW) files were shot with a previous generation Nikon D-SLR camera. Using the included Picture Control Utility, you can also create new custom Picture Controls, or modify the settings for existing ones.
