| Born in Turkey in 1966, Alptekin Baloğlu graduated as an architect, but for the past 22 years he has his roots in the print industry. It was back in 1994 when he let himself into the gravity of the underwater photography, the true sounds of the colors of the silent world.

| His books include The Reflections of Underwater (1999), the award-winning The Stars of Underwater (2003), and Underwater Life in Istanbul (2006).Baloğlu has won numerous awards, including “The World Prize of Underwater Book,” and “The Best Book of the Sea” for The Stars of Underwater, as well as the Gold Medal in the Fish Category in the 10th World Underwater Photography Championship, 2005.

| In 2006, his project “Underwater Life in Istanbul” came to an end with a big exhibition at Taksim square,
in the heart of Istanbul. More than 300,000 people visited this event.Baloğlu’s works have been exhibited worldwide.
