| Born in Nagano in 1949, Miyazaki is an active “natural photojournalist” focusing on nature and humans
from a social perspective. He has won many awards including the Ehon Nippon Award for his book Fukuro in 1978, the Photographic Society of Japan’s Newcomers Award for Washi to Taka in 1982, the Domon Ken Award for Fukuro in 1990, the Photographic Society of Japan’s Award of the Year for Shi in 1995, and Kodansha Publication Culture Award for Animal Mokushiroku.

| He has published other numerous books and photo collections.Images from his studio in the Central Japanese Alps are uploaded 24 hours a day and available to view via his website, as a popular feature that “brings nature to your desktop.”
