Shooting situations

The new year brought significant snowfall to the Hungarian plain. Common buzzards lurked over snow-clad fields where food is rather scarce and hardly visible. They cannot afford to lose even a little nibble. This photograph is a depiction of the birds’ instinct for survival, further enhanced by their instinct for power. |

Feelings towards this work and how it interprets "At the heart of the image"

I take great pleasure in the challenge of photographing these noble birds this close. They are living their everyday lives while I attempt to watch them up close. I want to share these moments of beauty and struggle by capturing their lives through the lens of my camera. |

| To find food under the thick layer of snow is a great challenge, these birds have to fight each other frequently over their food. This fight is almost invisible by the naked eye. As the camera captures this moment in 1/2000 of a second we can witness the seriousness and ferociousness in their fight for survival. |
