Key Features

High-power zoom lens covering 10-100 mm focal-length range

1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6 is a high-power zoom lens that covers an extremely wide focal-length range from wide-angle 10 mm to telephoto 100 mm. Angle of view is equivalent to a focal length of approx. 27 to 270 mm in 35mm [135] format. With this lens, you can easily shoot a wide variety of subjects and scenes. It is also useful when capturing a moving subject, such as children running, with which shooting distance changes quickly.

-Compatible with both wide shots and close-ups

You can include the ambience of the surroundings within the frame by using the wide-angle range. With the telephoto range, you can shoot close-ups of your subject.
The sample image (below, left) produces a magnificent sight with a wide angle of view, capturing the spiral staircase composed of beautiful curves together with the female subject. The close-up shot (below, right) was taken at the maximum telephoto position from the same shooting point.

-A broad zoom range, useful when focus distance quickly changes

When shooting scenes such as children playing in water or sports like soccer, in which focus distance changes quickly, you don't need to change lenses according to the distance to the subjects.

-The world's smallest* high-power 10x zoom lens

1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6 is the world's smallest high-power 10x zoom lens. It is highly recommended when taking a single lens for travel.

  • *Among zoom lenses with a zoom ratio of 5x or higher for digital cameras with interchangeable lenses available as of this lens' announcement on January 8, 2013, based on Nikon's research of volume comparison when the lens is retracted.

-Create a dynamic image available only with a telephoto lens

By using the telephoto range of this lens, you can shoot a powerful picture.
In the image at right, shot at the telephoto position of 100 mm, the yacht at the back appears closer, making the perspective compressed and creating a strong impression.

-Enjoy a beautifully blurred image by shooting at the telephoto position

By shooting at the telephoto position of the lens, you can also easily create a beautifully blurred image that effectively emphasizes the subject.
In this picture, the model's facial expression stands out as her surroundings are beautifully and softly blurred.

-Sharp, clear reproduction capability

1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6 consistently demonstrates superior rendering from infinity to the minimum focus distance throughout the entire zoom range. It captures sharp images that deliver a sense of depth.
In the sample image, the lens accurately reproduces the texture of the tomatoes, thickness of the soup, and fresh color and depth of the green leaves. Being able to shoot such a dish in front of you while seated is another advantage of this lens.

-Vibration Reduction (VR) function is incorporated

A VR function is incorporated in 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6. Under low-light conditions where slower shutter speeds must be used, slight camera shake is likely to cause image blur. This can be minimized by the VR function.

-Refined exterior design with high texture

Employing a metallic material for every color model, 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6 has a sophisticated, refined exterior design. As a compact lens that has a zoom ring featuring metallic roulette, it fits right in your hand, ensuring comfortable operability. You can smoothly zoom in and out. Five colors are available to choose from to match the body colors of Nikon 1 J3 (red and beige are only available for kit lenses). The lens barrel, which extends when zooming, is the same color as the lens body.
