The NIKKOR Club is an expression of Nikon’s brand and corporate mission: the development of photo culture. In September 1952, NIKKOR Club was established for the purpose of mutual friendship and international exchange of courtesies among users spreading around the world at the time who favor Nikon cameras or lenses. One of main promoters was Masao Nagaoka, President of Nippon Kogaku K. K. (now Nikon Corporation). Since then, with cooperation from many people,NIKKOR Club has been developed to a photo organization with many members.
Since 1968, Nikon Salon has contributed to the spread of photographic culture by offering a free exhibition space to aspiring artists. Since the very first exhibition "Eyes of Ihei Kimura," Nikon Salon has provided unique opportunities for both professional and amateur photographers by sponsoring their lectures and hosting their exhibitions. The goal was to pursue the true meaning of photography: the expression of ideas. This meant breaking the barrier between professional and amateur photographers and viewing their work as art, not business strategy. The applications are still open to everyone. Photographers of every style and level of experience are welcome at Nikon Salon. We look forward to viewing your work.
